Trauma y temporalidad. El punto de vista de Sándor Ferenczi

Ferenczi nos legó una mina de ideas sobre el trauma y la temporalidad que nunca han sido organizadas en un sistema teórico único y completo. Sus ideas, que desarrollaré brevemente aquí, son “pensamientos en evolución”. Ideas que eran totalmente innovadoras, en parte críticas y disonantes con el psicoanálisis del momento. Su concepción de la temporalidad supera en muchos sentidos la tripartición clásica entre pasado-presente-futuro, tal como la planteaban Freud y sus contemporáneos. Para Ferenczi los límites de cada dimensión temporal son más amplios que en la visión clásica. El pasado debe reproducirse en el curso del análisis, y no solo el pasado que “realmente” ocurrió sino también el que podía haber sucedido pero que no fue así por diferentes razones. El “no lugar” del trauma (un lugar en el que “no hay tiempo” y, por tanto, tampoco “presente, pasado o futuro”, se abre a una nueva temporalidad en la que el pasado puede modificarse porque una parte de él, que nunca ha sido experimentada, podría ser vivida en el presente.

Ferenczi left us a mine of ideas on trauma and temporality, which were never organized into a unique and complete theoretical system. Ferenczi’s ideas, which I will develop briefly here, are “thoughts in progress”. Ideas which were totally innovative and in part critical of, and dissonant with, the current psychoanalytic. His view of temporality surpasses in some respects the classical tripartition between past-present-future in the way that Freud and his contemporaries had conceived it. For Ferenczi the boundaries of each temporal dimension are more greatly dilated than in the classical vision. The past must reproduce itself in the “long wave” of analysis, and not only the past which has “really” occurred but also that which should have happened but for various reasons did not. The “nowhere” of trauma (a place where “there is no time” and therefore “no present, past or future” has opened itself to a new temporality which could change the past because a part of it, which has never been experienced, could be lived in the present.
